Aluminium oxide

Aluminium oxide (trioxide aluminium) – artificially synthesized corundum, with the content of aluminium oxide Al2O3 up to 99%. May contain impurities in the form of iron oxide, calcium, titanium, silicon.

 is divided depending on the degree of purity at:
- aluminium oxide, normal: the degree of purity of approximately 94 to 98%,
- aluminium oxide, floor noble: the degree of purity of about 98 to 99%
- aluminium oxide, noble: the degree of purity about from 99.5 to 100%.

By a small contamination of electrocorundum increases its quality. Grain electrocorundum have the wedge-shaped form. The mechanical impact of the grain of electrocorundum, are exposed to grinding, buying a round shape.

Aluminium oxide is the most common abrasive grain in the manufacture of abrasive materials and tools on the basis of the same reinforced abrasive discs.
